Sesame of Ispica

Tour and tasting at the Gambuzza farm

The Gambuzza farm is in Ispica, in south-eastern Sicily. It is a small family-run company, today, specialized in cultivation
of sesame, a plant with a thousand characteristics and beneficial properties.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by Simone and Salvatore, who together with their father manage the family business. With them you will enter the heart of sesame production, which from 2016 is one of the Slow Food brand products.

What will you do:
Visit to the fields , surrounded by nature, accompanied by the explanation of the various stages of cultivation , which requires great experience and manual skills.
Afterwards, you will participate in a small tasting with sesame-based products .

When:
The tour will take place every Wednesday, from June to October.
Reservations are mandatory and must be communicated at least 2 days in advance.

Duration:
About 1 hour and 30 minutes. Arrival in the farm at 16.30.

Cost:
Tour for minimum 6 people :

adults € 15.00 per person.
children from 0 to 5 years free
children from 6 to 10 years € 7.00.

For large groups (starting from 10 people):
adults € 12.00 per person.
children from 0 to 5 years free, from 6 to 10 years € 5.00.

Guide in English:
supplement of € 5.00 per person for adults. Price for children unchanged.

Tour in Italian or in English.

What is included:
Visit to the fields to discover the cultivation of sesame.
Tasting of at least 3 typical sesame based products.
Drinks: water and fruit juice.
